ERSAC is supported primarily by user fees. The goals of our fee structure are to be equitable to all users and to collect sufficient funds to support and administer the facility and systems. The current fee structure is:
A. Fees are charged quarterly by user account.
B. All users will belong to a primary group, which identifies their affiliation with ERSAC (i.e., which PI is paying for their account). Users may belong to more than one group.
C. There are levels of accounts:
Basic: $200/year --- 25 MB disk quota, access to basic software such as text editors, web browsers, e-mail, and printers. Each PI must have at least a basic account.
Enhanced: $500/year --- 250MB disk quota; access to ArcView, statistics packages, and a few other data analysis programs (e.g., TAPES-G, Spyglass, and Explorer).
Power: $1000/year --- 1GB disk quota; access to basic and enhanced software as well as CPU-intensive and administrator-intensive applications such as ARC/INFO, IMAGINE, Khoros, Sybase, IDL, and compilers.
D. PI's may purchase a larger disk quota at $50/100 Mb/year. They can then decide which members of their group will have access to it.
E. PI's may purchase disks for the RAID (at least until it's full).
F. The optical jukebox archive will no longer be available for storage of user data. Instead, it will be used for data sets of broad interest to ERSAC users and as system overflow space.
G. There will be a charge for installation by the system administrator of additional large applications or data sets.
H. Accounts which do not respond will be disabled. Disabled accounts can be reactivated by providing funding and contacting the Administrator within a month. Accounts that are not reactivated within a reasonable period of time will then be deleted.
